Buhari Speaks With Father Of Aid Worker Killed By Boko Haram Hauwa Liman

President Muhammadu Buhari has spoken with the father of Hauwa Liman, Mohammed Liman, after the killing of his daughter by Islamic State West Africa Province on Monday.

Hauwa, who was an aid worker with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), was abducted in March in Rann area of Borno state.

Her killing came on the back of the execution of another abducted Red Cross worker Saifura Khursa in September.

And in a telephone call, President Buhari commiserated with her family, regretting that all the efforts to save her life turned out unsuccessful.

The Nigerian leader also spoke with Peter Maurer, the President of the ICRC, extending condolences on the loss of the midwife.

He appealed to the ICRC to continue their services in Nigeria, despite the adoption and killing of its workers in Nigeria’s northeast region.
